Picked up a new toy today. Scope is not really mounted, just sitting in the rings for the pic right now. CZ550FL in 6.5x55 Swede. For now that's a Nikon Monarch African 1-4x20 sitting on it in the factory CZ rings. I might stay with this setup, might not. Not sure yet.

Great gun and caliber. That's all the scope you'll ever need.

A word of advice on low power scopes, use diamond zeroing targets, you can then hold the crosshairs on the corners to get a repeatable hold. I do think that a lot of people over scope themselves, because they have to shoot that tiny group and need the magnification to get a repeatable hold. All my scopes are low power variables from 1x4 to 2x7.

Thanks everyone. I'm really pleased with the rifle. I'm sure the setup I have on it now would function perfectly well, but I'm kinda' finicky. The rifle has a really nice gloss blue finish, the scope (just one I had in the closet) is matte black, and the rings that came with the rifle are that CZ phosphate type finish. Can't tell at a distance, or in a pic, but there's three different "colors" going on there. I'll probably shoot it the way it is for now and get a gloss black Loopy of the same form, about a 1-4x30, and a set of gloss-black rings from CZ for President's Day.

This is only my second CZ Rifle, and it's actually a carbine length with a 22" bbl, about 42" OAL. I'll see if I can get time to properly mount the scope Saturday morning, maybe even get her out to the range and post some groups. Not looking for benchrest groups from this girl, just minute-of-deer. cheers

Just got back from the range and she sure surprised me. Mounted and bore-sighted the scope early this morning. Sighted in at 25 yards, threw some dope on the scope, went out to 100. Fired four shots, checked, adjusted for 1" high at 100, fired two more. What more can I ask for?

edited to add: Liking this rifle! cheers

I was using a bag and a sand-sock. I assure you I am NOT this good. It's gotta' be 85% rifle, 15% me.

That is why I gave you 5%, and the fact that you did have to work the bolt. cowboy

You're closer to the truth than you know. 2.5% for working the bolt is fair, she's real smooth, and she does have that CZ set trigger, so I'll take 2.5% for that, too. wink
