Awesome shot! Everything about that place is awesome. I hiked in at bright angel a few years back and caught a 5 day rafting trip through the heart of it. Unreal...and saw some amazing rams down there including a big albino ram.

Great shot!!

I did the Rim to Rim hike 4 years ago with my oldest son. Love that place. My bucket list includes returning and doing the entire 225 miles by dory.

That is one of the all time wonders of the world. Saw it when I was 5 YO. Still remember like it was yesterday. My Dad had me on his shoulders and standing next to the rim, of course I freaked out and started crying like a little girl. I'll never forget that.

Thank you. And thanks to all you guys for your well wishes. The hunt starts today so will probably be "off the grid" for a while very shortly.

Unfortunately, the Japanese have discovered the Grand Canyon too. Imagine 3-4 buses full of yammering tourists swarming with cameras and all of them posing for photos at the scenic spots.....and without any regard for others.

Rick Steves, of NPR's "Through the Back Door" has said that once the Japanese discover a vacation spot, it's time to move on. He was specifically referring to Split/Dubrovnik, but you get the idea.

Thanks for sharing the photos, NGP. Now, on to more important matters......
