Is it kinda like rain, when it lifts deer move? Or do they like it and move better? I've never hunted when foggy so id appreciate any input

Deer move during the fog at our place. It will prolong your hunt in some instances because they will lay down for a while and then get back up and feed some more if it stays foggy. Sometimes a considerable amount of wildlife movement occurs when it is foggy and sometimes it is slow.

Some of the best I have seen stepped out of the fog. Best with little or no wind as well.

I was concerned about hunting in fog a few years ago, but ended up getting the best buck to date. For me it was an awesome and unexpected experience. I was sitting in a ground blind and couldn't see more than 50 yards in front of me. I had a feeder about 120 yards away. By chance or by the grace of God, the fog lifted about 10 feet and I have a clear sight to the feeder. What stood there was a mature buck. I had no idea the headgear. All I knew was that it was a big bodied buck with horns. Based on the 2 second evaluation I took the shot, I saw the buck kick and knew I had made good contact. After the shot the fog settled to where I had 50 yards of visibility. I was so anxious, but waited about 30 minutes and went down to check the spot. When I got there, there was no blood anywhere to be found. I was nearly heartbroken. I looked towards the direction of where he went and not 15 yards away there he lay.

I have seen great movement during foggy mornings, I believe it is essentially close to how they feel safe at night. It almost seems counter-intuitive though. I still think it is like
cover" for them though.

Fog doesn't effect deer movement but scopes get pretty useless.

I love hunting the fog, but last week was a bust. I'll be out there the next few days

good luck up

I got an old buck yesterday at 10:40 am just as the fog lifted. Was just over 200 yards. I walked around in the fog and walked up on deer which was cool but very hard to see 60 yards. We didn't have feeders though so no point in sitting when you can't see anything. Still saw deer moving though but very hard to tell what they were. Buddy got out of stand and took a big 8 earlier so I had to try and match him which I did on age and weight.

Las Colinas hunter. That buck is a 'Hoss'. What do you figure that he weighed?
