Rut seems to be over and I cannot pick up anything moving.. Public Land - I have bagged one buck on Thanksgiving that was following, but not chasing, so I think I was just in the right place at the right time.
For Post Buck success what would you recommend? I I will be positioning as close to acorns as possible wih recent signs of deer. It seems grunts are not being effective anymore and are being ignored. Should I switch to doe calls to try to get in the Social Bucks who want to hang around Does in case one that has not been knocked up gets ready?
I have never rattled before but I have read that post rut is a great time to rattle in bucks that are looking for the late rut does.
Any advice will help.. This is my first season, and I think I was VERY fortunate to bag one buck on public land this year. I may be greedy wanting 2 haha but I cannot afford a lease yet so I gotta do what I gotta do!
