Had to put in a plug for the Barnes TTSX. Switched most of my calibers to TTSX last year. Only got a shot at a 100 pound sow last season. Dropped in its tracks with a 120 grain (Chad's reloads) behind the ear with my Tikka in 6.5 Swede. Since it was a well placed shot, no meat loss at all. But at that time I still hadn't seen what the TTSX does to a deer.

Fast forward to this season..... I christened my CZ "Minnesota" that the original owner rebarreled to a 7mm-08. Got two bucks before Thanksgiving using 120 grain factory loads. Shot each one at the base of the neck, DRT. I was surprised at the low loss of meat. Hit bone but the TTSX went straight through without all the bloodshot meat that happens with lead bullets that blow up on impact with solid bone. If close enough, I typically go for a higher neck shot, but with the TTSX, I am switching to the higher percentage base of the neck/high shoulder shot knowing I won't lose much meat at all.

In addition, a buddy borrowed my 300 wsm for an elk hunt. Talked him into the TTSX and he dropped a 6x6 bull at 195 yards with one shot using 150 grain factory load. Yea, I am sticking with TTSX!!!

They are great bullets, but for some reason I could not get them to group out of my Remington .243. Best group I shot was just over an inch, fine for hunting but with Berger bullets I am getting half inch MOA no problem. Might try some in my 6.5 CM when its done.

For me, so far so good as far as accuracy with the 6.5x55, 300 wsm, and 7mm-08. Chad also reloaded some TTSX for my 6mm and my 788 likes them just fine. Have yet to dial in the 270 and 22-250 with them. If that doesn't work, I'll give Nosler partitions or Accubonds a try.

I killed 2 bucks over thanksgiving with factory loads from a .270. Both behind the shoulder shots...one dropped in it's tracks at 100yds and the other went 50yds after being shot at around 210 yds. Only complaint was lack of blood trail on the second buck. That definitely caused me to have some un necessary worry about losing the deer or a potential miss.

Over the last 9 months, my brother and I, using our 7mmRM rifles, have shot up Argentina, Africa, and west Texas elk with the 140 gr TTSX. The accuracy and terminal performance have been excellent.

Furthermore, my crystal ball tells me that sooner or later we'll all have to make the switch to lead-free ammo, just as the waterfowlers have done. Hopefully, that won't happen in my lifetime, but I'm betting it will occur in yours and my childrens'.....

Typical performance. Glad they worked so well, as usual. Been using them for a bit over ten years and still looking for these "Failures" I hear about from time to time.

anything under a .280 or similar they are hard to beat.. They hit hard and expand well without shattering... Used them in .243, 22-250, and the 110ttsx out of my .270win. They hit harder than any 150gr round ive ever shot out of it and even knocked big 250lb plus size hogs with the 85gr out of the .243 and went strait through both shoulder plates. I will say I used them out of a 30-06 and they passed through a bit to well for clients hunting... very small blood trails and little damage but this was only with WT.. they did fine with pigs

Anybody shooting 30-06 Barnes TTSX? There's a great clearance by Midway for both the 168 and 180 grain at $27.47 a box. Can't beat that with a stick!

I use the 150 grain and they are awesome. 2 big bucks and a 200 hog, no problem

Looks like they sold out the 150 and are down to just the 180 grain.
