I was boiling it like I always do for about an hour then a buddy told me about a YouTube video where a man uses a power washer. Pulled out the power washer then bam. It only took about 10 or 15 minutes. Shot this 10 thanksgiving week. No bleach just power washer. Next will be the hog I shot.

I do it the lazy mans way. I live on a salt water canal and I just submerge the head in the canal for 3 weeks. Wala the crabs, clams and fish clean the skull to the bone. It's amazing how even the most fragile bones in the head remain intact.

The grease will come back if it's not degreased, but if you can clean it without damage then that's a good deal.

Use 70% peroxide and whitening powder from Sally's and paste it on and let it sit in the sun for a day and brush it off white as paper. Pressure washer is what I do aswell. Nice buck

Gonna turn yellow in a week or so. Gonna have to bleach it if you want it to stay white.

Bone will stay white without grease in it. You can peroxide it all you want but if there's grease it will turn yellow in time.

I have 3 of them sitting in my living room. Looked at them this weekend as I was doing some cleaning they range from 3-4 years old and were cleaned with peroxide only and are as white as a sheet of paper with no grease coming back and yellowing.

I agree.

i have been doing skulls for 20+ years. i only bleached or peroxide the first couple of them. I do my kids also. we all agree we like them not bleached. we like the shadows on the skull. i have never had a single deer skull turn the slight bit yellow. i will take a pic of some and show ya if i think about it. I do the skull mount then take the hide to the tanner. makes for a nice cheap trophy.
I once drank muddy water out of a hoof print and was dang glad to get it.
