Can you feed deer in MS? If so, you already know the "program"! If your in-laws have feeders or deer plots out, use those. If not, get a couple bags of corn when you get here and spread a bag in a place that looks good to you (in laws should be able to tell the best areas). Will be the same "deer hunt'n" just shorter trees grin

The you will be OK with the feeding part. I believe the rut is on now and may be partially over?, There are a couple Coleman threads if you go back a few pages iirc.

Be sure and check TPWD regs for out of state hunters. Kinda pricey in my opinion. If your girlfriend is still a Texas resident it might be she needs to do the hunting for ya'll grin . Good luck and welcome to THF. http://tpwd.texas.gov/regulations/outdoor-annual/licenses/hunting-licenses-and-permits

Somebody can probably verify this, but make sure you check into Texas hunter safety. I'm unsure if out of state hunters need it (or have to purchase the deferment) but the guy working the counter at Walmart may not know. I'd get those ducks in a row. Texas parks and wildlife takes those things seriously.

Just scout, hand throw corn, and play the wind.
