My dog had an episode last night and I'd like to see if anyone has any ideas of what may have caused it or what it may have been.
This has happened one time before about 3 years ago and then last night. My pup is a female beagle and is fixed and all up on her shots and heartworm and always has been. Last night she acted completely normal when I got home and I brought her in like usual. After several hours of her normal lounging around she walked in front of the tv and stopped she lost her balance and was shaking and couldn't walk. I thought she was going to get sick so I picked her up and took her outside on the back porch she stayed like this for about 10 min I didn't know what to do it was late so I got her some food and water she ate some of the food and just sat there trembling. After about another 5 minutes she did her best to walk and peed then pooped. After another short while she regained her balance but still moved very slow compared to her normal self. I brought her back inside and she immediately went to her kennel and went to sleep. We sat on the couch and watched her and she just slept. When we got up to go to bed she got up and went to the door like she always does so I can take her potty before we go to bed. This morning she is even more normal but still seems to be a little slower than normal.
This happened once when she was 2 years old but only lasted for a matter of seconds. She is now 5 years old and it lasted maybe 15-20 min total.
Thanks for any help.

I was wondering about stroke/seizure. There shouldn't be anything in her yard she can get into. And whenever she is out of the pen she is watched.

Probably idiopathic epilepsy, but a good neuro work-up is in order to rule out other issues.
