Land Rover supports anti-hunters Since Toyota kicked their butts all around Africa, I guess they need support from the city-folk that want to tell us all how we should live.

That's an easy decision. I'd rather have my made in Texas Tacoma any day of the week anyway.

Seems like they're alienating a good portion of their customers with that move. Not smart.

Seems like they're alienating a good portion of their customers with that move. Not smart. The only place we see Land Rovers is the upscale malls, the Land Rover has become more of a yuppie vehicle than a hunter's vehicle. But so has the Toyota Land Cruiser, right behind them are the Ford Broncos, the Chevy Blazers and the rest of the old hunting rigs.

The ones I see at the mall have never seen a dirt road. But Broncos?

Yes and Broncos. http://gearheads.org/the-2015-ford-bronco/#.VH6DSWYtBMsYou can even add the Jeep line being marketed to the city crowd. Most Jeeps made today are not even 4 wheel drive today, nothing but a SUV with the Jeep name attached to it. Hunters make up about 10 percent of the population, hunters as a market is a waste of marketing dollars. There are 90 percent more buyers that will never see off road or a even a country road than those that "cruise" the country.

My wife has a Land Cruiser, and it sees plenty of action at the deer lease. Even has the mesquite scratches to prove it.

It's a shame, too. The 4 wheel drive on those things is amazing.

My 85 landcruiser has never been to the mall and stays at the ranch with a corn chumer on the bumper almost year round. As much as I abuse it a bath makes it look good. South Texas brush has not hurt it yet.

I've noticed millions pickups in DFW just like that too. Fixed it. But then there are the hunters, they spend $50,000 on a pickup because they need 4x4 etc. and then buy a $10,000 UTV so they don't get their pickup dirty.

I love these non-off road driving people. A good 4x4 with 30,000 - 85,000 street miles is a great vehicle for people like me that finally came to the conclusion that taking the depreciation hit was a poor financial decision. Example in 2008 I decided I wanted a Mercedes CLK 500 convertible to drive in town instead of my truck. I found an 2005 with 33,000 mi on it and paid 23,500 fo rthe car. Granted that is probably the best car deal I ever made since in '05 the first owner paid about 60K. I'm still driving it today, of course I'm still driving my '02 Chevy crewcab diesel too. They both run great and I haven't had a payment in a long time. So let those soccer mom's rock out in their off road vehicles and reap the benefits.
Oh and land rover can KMA:-)

New Range Rovers suck off-road and are in the shop too much. Plus they cost too much to take off road.
It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

Speaking of yuppie cars, just look what they did to the Jeep Grand Cherokee! My old 98 GC is one of the last true Jeep offroad suv's. Just like when the Hummers were popular, the only off road they ever saw was a soccer mom driving into a mall parking lot. You never saw one with south Texas pin striping. Even now that they stopped building them they are rarely seen dirty. What's up with that?

Thursday at 12:45 PM #33 Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

It is obvious from this thread some people don't know the difference between Land Rover and a Land Cruiser.
