Last week I purchased my aph permit since I moved to east Texas a few weeks ago and don't have any private spots here. I was just curious if you guys with permits have like game warden or someone show/tell you the area your wanting to hunt. All I ever hunted was private or Coe land so this is new to me. I'm planning on going Thursday to scout if I don't run out of daylight before I get there. There's one spot I'm really interested in just not sure if its in the zone to hunt from looking at the map.

Nope. Use tpwd website with Ariel maps and use google maps. It's usually posted pretty well. So long as you enter at a legal entry point

you have to go by the crappy map they provide, then try to sync that up with areal photos from google earth. They really could come up with a better system to determine property boundries, but they havent yet.
I like spoonie, his humor is dryer than my duck lease.
