I'll moving down to Corpus Christi for a job come mid-December and I plan on bringing my gear and dog to do some duck hunting down there. Was wondering if anyone could help me understand where it is legal to hunt down there. From what I understand, Baffin Bay and Laguna Madre are open for hunting? No need to name spots, just want to know the boundaries. Also what kind of ducks are everyone shooting down there. I only have a bag full of pintail, teal and redhead decoys. I'll be fairly new to the area so if anyone wants to grab a few beers and talk hunting or fishing and pass on some wisdom, let me know, I'll get the first round.

I've yet to hunt the coast, but there were some previous threads up on this topic.

From what I read there are blinds folks built in open water. Because its in public water no one has real ownership of them, so its first come first serve. You just need to be prepared to deal with who ever shows up. The problem is going to be some folks are going to feel since they built it, its theirs no questions asked.
