How many muture bucks have you taken that never frequented a feeder / have not been seen on camera. There are several bucks taken each year that seem to come out of now where on our lease. Just curious how common this is.

Some do some don't. And it really depends on what time of year on my ranches. I have some mature bucks that you can set your clocks by in October.

But when the rut kicks off you might not see them at a feeder again until feb. And some will show up on the outskirts of a feeder just checking for hot does.

Mine don't! I've seen two mature bucks the past month I haven't seen all year. Both brought in by an estrus drip.

About the same on mine. During the rut, a doe might bring one in also.

We might get one or two pics of them at one out of eight cameras on a holiday and that is it. They sure are sneaky.

Yep and you better be ready to shoot in that scenario. Mine don't linger long when rutting.

Sometimes we get a pic of a mature deer. Then he only shows every couple of weeks, sometimes once a month.

They definitely don't frequent our feeders nearly as often as other deer, but we have them come in every once in a while. Having a feeder in the area helps keep does around which can help out during the rut. So, you may not see a mature buck at your feeder but he may be cruising for does that are around because of your feeder.

I have 2 shooting lanes from my blind and 1 has a feeder and I hand corn the other!!! Occasionally I'll see a mature buck at the feeder but most prefer the hand corn lane best!!! I hunt the Big Thicket area in SE Texas so cover is not a problem at either location!!!

Ocassionally will see mature bucks during season at a feeder but not often or with regularity. Have seen some big bucks stand down wind of a feeder for over an hour just watching and smelling the air. Biggest buck I have seen in years came out for some hand spread corn one afternoon a couple years ago. First sighting I had of him since before season and he was within 50 yards of me for over 20 minutes, no tag for him in my pocket though. Was fun watching him eat.

Hunting a small place late season the regulars from summer often start showing up at the feeders, but a lot of the time it is a week or two post season. The big ones pattern us a lot better than we pattern them.

Yep. But I will say some of the biggest deer taken on or near my lease are the ones that nobody has TC pics of and have never been seen. The rut really draws in different bucks.

I've taken just one older buck at a feeder and it was very early in the morning around the start of legal shooting hours during the middle of the week when the lease was quiet.

I had also walked about a half mile to reach my stand, rather than riding the ATV any closer to it.

They don't get old being stupid.

This guy was under the feeder at 5:30 P.M. last Saturday, along with a couple of does. All three of them fed and he did not bother either doe.

Ours don't come in regularly, but do come by and snack on some corn more often post rut.

I think much of it depends on hunting pressure. When we got our place there was no deer to speak of, only saw 2 does and a 3pt the first year. We fed protein and corn heavy and didn't shoot a deer for 3 seasons and the forth year we had a few 3-4 yo deer hitting feeders regularly. For the next 2-3 years we saw several mature deer with regularity at the feeders. Stepping up doe and buck harvest for the now established and over grown population and now we see few mature deer at the feeders but they show well at random corn piles with cameras on them.
