Hope everyone is having a great season so far. We are taking out annual father/son/son hunting trip this weekend with ny dad, and my brother this weekend in Llano. How has the hunting been up there so far? Any signs of the rut or bucks chasing? Our place is about 5 miles south of town on 16.

Weather report says it will be kind of warm, so we are keeping our fingers crossed for some success. Thanks for the update. Good luck to all!

We are just a little south of you and hunted the whole week of Thanksgiving. The deer movement has been pretty good as long as the weather cooperates. We had several clear sunny warm days around Thanksgiving and that seemed to slow the movement a bit on those days. Does and young bucks are coming to the corn pretty well since the acorns are mostly done. The rut is in full swing and the big bucks are chasing! Good luck!

I talked to my cousin over Thanksgiving, he hunts in Burnet County and said its been pretty slow for the whole season so far. I have some other family members that hunt in Lampasas County that have taken several bucks already, one of them was a very nice one. Good luck!

I was there Saturday through Tuesday last week just west of Llano. Rut is in full swing, mature bucks are seeking and tending does. Action at feeders was way slow for us, corn piling up. Hope for cold and cloudy weather and hunt areas with good visibility besides just the feeder. It was clear as a bell the whole time I was there, with fairly slow daytime activity. But, it was right around freezing Tuesday am and that's when I dropped my buck who came in to some road corn following a doe.

Good luck to y'all!
