I'm looking to buy a new rifle for coyotes prairie dogs and possible bobcats. I was thinking either a .204, .243, .223, or .22-250. I'll be hunting in central and west texas. Any input on these calibers or any others would be appreciated. Thanks

22-250. I've got one and wouldn't get rid of it.

223/22-250/220 swift for dedicated varmint gun. For mulitpurpose a 243 could do it with a light bullet and you could use a heavier bullet to deer hunt.

I'm a 6mm slut but I still have a 223 and 220 swift.

That 22-250 gets it done and decent ammo selections here is a different caliber to look at 223 wssm

If you're intent on hot and heavy prairie dog shooting you'd be best off with something in .223 Rem unless you can restrain yourself from toasting the barrel on a .22-250.

I've fallen for the 204 myself in a CZ varmint target 527 with the Kevlar stock. Dang I love that thing! And it's truly a great value!

But as always, the 22-250 will win I'm sure.

.223

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

.204 all day every day

Easier on the barrel super easy on the shoulder, bucks the wind and hits HARD. I really want a can for my cousins... but if he got one I might end up borrowing it indefinitely.

under 400, but with the heavier higher BC bullets the creed has way less wind drift and drop at 400 out
