Not that one but shoot Deer with other A-Maxes and they have worked well.
There is an thread from last year about hunting with A-Max bullets with quite a few reporting good results
lf the saying "Liar, Liar your pants on fire" were true

I love the 178 AMAX out of a 308
Long range, target, hunting..
it just works..
A lighter AMAX out of a fast cartridge hitting bone at close range is less than ideal for deer and hogs.
The 155g AMAX out of a 308 makes stuff really dead but creates a mess.

Why they not advertise amax as a hunting bullet? They used to but stopped a few years back. I've gotten conflicting replies when I inquired as well. One said that they were worried about people not having discretion in use and that it is just a cup and core bullet but works well if not pushed to hard. Another guy told me that they never ever said it was acceptable for hunting but never responded back when I inquired about it being in the manuals.

I use the .308 168gr amax on deer and they have performed well.
