I've got a Foxpro Spitfire I've had for a couple of years and really hadn't used it until last week. Called in a coyote a couple of Saturdays ago and a fox this past Sunday when I finished deer hunting, both with the lightning jack call. My question is, how long do you let it call and do you then turn it off for a period of time?

I let it call for about 3 minutes, then turned it off for 10 or so and repeated. Not sure if this is right, so I thought I would ask.

IMO, there is no right or wrong way to call predators. I have been predator hunting for more than 35 years and have tried everything from call and wait to letting the e caller run. I normally start off with hand calls, then if that doesn't work, go with the FoxPro. Try different sequences, different calls, mix it up and find out what works for you. Main thing is to work the wind, be as still as you possibly can. Try to learn from every setup, not only what works but also what doesn't work.
