Just noticed this in the 308 thread below: Getting a 308 Win to shoot is not hard. 2 weeks ago I won my first Rifles Only match shooting a 308 with 175 Bergers. It will do it! Major win! Well done and congratulations!

Thank you, Jeff! It was awesome! I went 8 of 10 on the 400 yard mover, 9 of 10 on the 500 yard mover. Cleaned the KYL (know your limits) and 5 dot drill at 100 (in less than 20 seconds), went 10 for 10 on the 100 yard mover, 4 of 5 at 700, 4 of 5 at 800. My 308 and I were on! Todd hooked me up on a cheek repair on my Rock Solid Stock and Dale Trout did an emergency replacement trigger for me 2 days before the match. I didn't think I would get to shoot my rifle. But it all worked out! Thanks so much! Also, this match was a fund raising match for Special Operations Warrior Foundation. All donations, calcuta bidding, and prize winnings went to this organization. http://www.specialops.org/

Sounds like some good shooting.

You were definately in the zone to win that match!
Especially with a 308 in that DA. Congrats!

Thanks guys!! This is the only pic I have. The rifle I shot is the grey one on the bottom, a Surgeon 591, Rock Solid Stock (one of the first one's produced), Bartlein 1:11" barrel chambered in 308 Win, Jewell Trigger and 5.5-22x56 mil/MLR Nightforce scope. In this pic, is when it was a 260 Rem. But the 308 barrel looks the same. The muzzle brake pictured on the black TRG 42 300 WM is the brake currently on the 308 (I swap them out between rifles). The Surgeon has been painted a dark grey color now. Otherwise, it's the same rifle. My other barrel for this Surgeon is a 6.5x47 Lapua, which is my main competition caliber. I have been on a 308 Win kick lately, and didn't feel like switching barrels to my 6.5, so I ran the 308. The 308 shoots very well, sub inch at 300 yards. The 6.5x47 will out shoot the 308, and provide better ballistics. The 6.5 barrel is the most accurate and consistent round I have ever shot. I'm a big 260 Rem and 6.5 Creedmoor fan, but am a bigger 6.5x47 Lapua fan now.

I don't know why I'm posting this, but this is what I wore for the match. It was a friends and family match, and most everyone wore a costume. It was fun!

You going to wear that to the Hunters Challenge? Not unless there's a lot beer and a side bet involved!

Wait - 308, Nightforce, SFP, and 175's?
There is no way that can win - it says so on the internet! Just kidding of course.
Judging by results that ought to be your new favorite set-up.
Congratulations and again well done.

Thanks!! Yes, I know, right! I'm a big SFP fan. You are not handicapped at all with one, if you know how to use a SFP scope. I've been shooting a lot of 308 lately. It's renewed the fun factor in shooting for me where I don't have to worry about burning out a barrel and such. Thanks again!!!
