I am looking at buying a scope for a .257 weatherby mag I bought last year. I am looking at the Nikon pro staff 5, leupold vx-2, and Zeiss terra. Which one would you get? Any other recommendations? Thanks for any input.

Out of that group, I'd buy the Leupold...and I haven't bought a Leo in a very long time. Otherwise broaden your Horizons at about the same $'s in the Meopta 3.5x10x44 1" tube from CameraLandNY for $400 as advertised on the Home Page...
....or a right now with your 257'Bee as the platform in mind I'd look at a SWFA SS 3x9x42 or mo bettah the SS 3x15x44 and learn to use the MRAD system of Dots in a FFP 30mm true long range scope, that are a $100 off list right now at $5 & $6 hunnert each when I looked over the Weekend. FWIW the next step scope in the same series is a 5x20 at $1500 that FJG runs at past a K yards in a 260Rem.

I have been using Vortex optics and I am very satisfied with them, worth looking into.

Whatever scope maker you go with, get plenty of magnification range for that flat shooting cartridge. A 5-20 would be great, but I'm a fan of 4-16 and 4.5-14. I have a Vortex Viper, and I gripe lightly about it, but I really do like it. And I have never had the slightest gripe about my VX3 Leupolds, which really are a big step up from my VX2 level scopes. So if you can swing the expense, and if you aren't a turret cranker, I suggest the Leupold VX3 4.5-14x40 with the Varmint Hunter reticle. It isn't way more expensive than the 6-18x40 VX2 I have on my 223.
