Could be the lighting, but looks like two different people to me. Same cat, same barn, same blood spot and same boots....but the shirt in the OP doesn't look like it has a pattern, hat is down lower and doesn't look the same, and the guy in the OP looks younger and possibly brown headed....possible one is the guide?

Or it could be the same guy confused2

I did hear of a lion being killed on a ranch north of Gordon last week but it could be a small town rumor. I haven't seen the rancher to ask if it's true. I'll find out though .

I agree it looks like two different guys, but the photos were obviously taken in the same place since the background looks identical.

Its funny how people try to twist stories about big cats, in particular, to fit their liking. I agree they're awesome animals, but with some folks as soon as a mountain lion comes up in conversation the truth goes right out the window.

Txshntr, you are right. The first pic is of Todd with the cat. That is the hunter that shot it though in the second pic. If you click this link, that was in the third or so post of this thread, you'll see that it matches what I said.

cheers Your post made more sense when I compared the two pictures. Looked like a guide and then the hunter, just as you said

First pic is Jims brother who leases the pasture. Second pic is of Jim, the lucky hunter. Good eyes there, txshntr.

Jims brother is in first pic. He leases the pasture. Jim killed the cat.

I have a customer in Eastland that had one on her place in Rising Star. He son saw it while on a deer hunt year before last. Neighbors have seen it as well.

It's still around Rising Star. We hunt several miles outside town and have seen its huge prints now and then. I want to see it not shoot it though.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, beer in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

Good catch on two different guys up

But is it really a guy named Tod Hunter or Jim Farmers brother in the first pic scratch

I heard Jerry Jones actually shot it on his high fenced ranch inside Highland Park (Dallas) wink grin

My buddy is Todd Worlow, he's the guide. I know nothing about Jim, the guy who shot it. I just know Todd has had a few pics of that cat before. He'd been keeping an eye out for it, the hunter just got lucky he was in the stand when it came out.

Todd is the guide in the first picture and Jim is the hunter who shot the cat in the second picture. Cat was killed outside of Carizo Springs. Like stated above there had been very few pictures of this cat over the last two years more of which were on the neighboring ranch.

That seems to make the most sense. I've never met Jim's bro, I assumed the first pic was him.

funny how all of this gets passed around. A guy brought the picture and showed me at work and said it was killed in Elmo, TX. The picture had the guys face cut off but I knew I recognized the background as I had seen it on here. I came back and pulled it up and sure enough it was the same picture. lol i told him I was pretty sure the cat did not come from Elmo area.

I wasn't trying to say there are not cats in the Eastland, Santo, Palo Pinto area of TX. Just wanted to verify if that cat was actually from there as stories always get turned around. If you go to BJ's in Mingus, there is a stuffed cat in there that came from a friends ranch in Strawn. They are definitely there.

Growing up in West Texas, I had heard stories of these cats being around. Either way, that is one big kitty!
