The local spot had a youth/adult weekend this week. I took a boy from church with me. Got to the public land gate at 330 and access isn't allowed until 4. We're were #2 in line. 4 rolls around and we take off to the spot I scouted out only to find someone who camped there all night. So I discussed it with the guy then went to my #2 spot. On top of that people were shooting 10 mins before legal and we had birds in the spread and flying all around. I told him that if we were going to hunt we were going to follow the rules even if the others didn't. I guess God smiled on that as we both limited (his first limit ever) and I shot my first sprig.

The kid also said he wants to be in the SpoonPlatoon as well. The SpoonPlatoon is a joke between my hunting pals because if a group of 10 ducks flew by I usually shoot th one spoon in the group.
