Who has one, and how accurate is it?
Thanks
Donny

I never had a pro hunter, but I had standard Encores and they were all sub MOA.
The secret to a long life is to try not to shorten it.

All of my Encores and Contenders are accurate. It is better if you reload.

I have an Encore frame and use Pro Hunter barrels. 50 Cal muzzle loader and 25-06 see the most use and are MOA shooters when I do my part.

Thanks for the info guys. I just bought one from a friend, with a .243, 7 Mag and 50 Cal muzzle loader barrel, he's only shot the 7 Mag 3 times, killed a few deer with the .243
I have heard that they wont shoot MOA, but from the sound of it, most will.

I have heard that they wont shoot MOA, but from the sound of it, most will. Usually it's not the gun it's the shooter. All hammer gun have a longer lock time then standard bolt action. Once you get use to it's pretty accurate little gun and very blind friendly

And of course you will have to find what it likes just like any other firearm. Took me a couple of different loads in the 25-06 barrel to find what shot best.

I have a pro hunter with 2 barrels. Both barrels shot moa. It's a light gun that's easy on a 4wheeler and in the stand. Great guns
I once drank muddy water out of a hoof print and was dang glad to get it.

Mine could use some trigger work but is way more accurate then I am able to shoot it. That's a good way to put it. I have two barrels and they both shoot really well with most of the ammo I've tried.

My son and I just fired our Pro Hunters this afternoon getting ready for a New Jersey bear hunt. With harvester sabots and bullets they are both 1 inch guns at 100 yards, mine has a pro hunter barrel and his has a regular Encore barrel.

I have hunted with Contenders & Encores for 100 years. Started as soon as I could and still love them. Up until 2003 (started at age 18 and am now 56) I didn't even own a bolt gun. I also have several model 1885's. All told I have killed far more critters with my single shots.
I have owned & hunted with: 6.5 JDJ, 309 JDJ, 270-06JDJ, 280 JDJ, 30-06 JDJ, 35-06 JDJ, 7mm/08 Improved, 280 Remington, 308 Winchester & 300 Win Mag. My preferred choice is 280 Remington.
All of my custom barrels are one hole accurate. My two commercial barrels are sub MOA. That said, I am currently working with a 280 Rem Shilen barrel from SSK that is giving me fits.

I had a pro Hunter in 25-06 that shot 1/4" groups off a led sled when I took out as much as human error as I could. Why I let it go, I don't know. I have nothing bad to say about these.
