Been slow in Wise as well, but heard allot of shooting opening day and again on thanksgiving eve. Still a gazillian acorns here, but many now are wormy and small (oak worms). Deer it my feeder every day, but at random times. Hitting food plots real good (does small bucks) keeping it short like a golf course.

Slow here too. Tons of acorns and no deer at the feeder. All the activity seems to be at night with the exception of this small yearling spike I see almost everytime I go out. I see lots of rubs but yet to see any scrapes. Anyone know if the rut has kicked in here in parker county?

If there are tons of acorns and no deer coming to the feeders I tend to not hunt the feeders. Go find a trail to sit on.

Mature bucks hitting feeders in the dark. Does and young bucks at dif times of day. Mature bucks at the feeder mid day on those really cold days we've had.

Have seen mature bucks locked down on does for the last 14 days. Seems to be a prolonged rut. Only bucks I saw in the wind yesterday were chasing hard. Others I saw I jumped up while driving around and they were bedded with does.

I'm in southwest Wise, not far Parker or Jack County lines.

Get ready for it, whole new batch of acorns falling at my house, strangest year I have ever seen with the acorns. Those late summer rains must have spurred the oaks on since last year was a light acorn crop.
