Bought my first revolver yesterday, a single action Heritage Rough Rider .22. Shot 12 rounds through it today and when putting it back in the safe went to double check and make sure it wasn't loaded. Cocked the hammer back 2 clicks to check the cylinder and then everything froze. The hammer, the cylinder, and the trigger will not move at all. Any idea what could be going on here? This is my first revolver so my knowledge is quite limited as to what to do. Thanks for the help y'all.

I am only familiar with Rugers, not so much the lighter brands but if it were mine I'd try to pull the cylinder pin first then see if the cylinder would come out.

Can you look in the muzzle end with a mirror and a flashlight in the event it's eating bullets?

Bulge in the barrel?

Are these based on the Old Model Ruger SAs or a "safety" version?

Seems they are a mixture of both and Academy has a door buster for $99+.

They tend to have tolerance stacking issues where the excess tolerance in several different parts compounds to create a situation where the hand is trying to turn the cylinder while the cylinder lock is still engaged. When this happens, it brings the whole system to a screeching halt. If you bought it new, send it back to Heritage for repairs.
FWIW, they aren't built for longevity, but they are ok for occasional use.

had one years ago , same issue ! got rid of it.
