A lot of people used to enter and post pics. Nowdays most enter but do not send any pics in. The entries have dropped steadily the past few years in the drought also. I have entered several in the past 20 years, none recently though.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

I know of 2 enters this year in region 5. Why do you suppose it is declining? Interest or ? It seemed for a while the rage was got get a 130, got get a 130 and get my certificate and it seems I meet more and more people not obsessed about score, I enjoy the youth portion more than the other..I think it's a great program IMO it just seems to be dwindling and if you have been to one it's like ground hog day. I enjoy seeing the ones on the wall and I try and make it if one of our younger guys makes it just to show respect. And for the Raffles of course

You know I killed one last year that would have been 4th in his region, but never even thought about entering. Are there awards?

Last time we entered one was 2008. Josh and I have both killed md and wt we could have entered, just lost interest.

I have entered several in the past 20 years, none recently though. I was contacted by two different scorers wanting to enter mine. I declined. Not really sure why. I let one score it but didn't enter.

Only shot one deer that qualified, but I will enter more if I ever get another one that qualifies.

I'm sure the drought had a big effect the last couple of yeas... but TPWD does a lousy job marketing these awards. They need to keep it fresh on the hunters mind and give out something that entices more entries. The data gathered here is valuable.

The entries have dropped steadily the past few years in the drought also. Not entirely true. The Pineywoods was actually the highest last year it has been since 2001.

We've had constant rain since Sept '12...overall the horns look better this year than last year. Right mix of ppl have to kill to get the numbers of entries. From my observation, people just don't care.
