Always messing with stuff and just curios what would make it better. Got a 700 AAC-sd 300 blackout to play with. Out of the box accuracy is great as my brother has one already. New trigger? Would ideally like a box mag also. What else would you change to make it a great all around gun.

lap the bolt lugs, new trigger, but the black out will be plus or minus depending on how far you are shooting.

Yep, having the trigger lightened to a crisp 2-1/2 pounds made my Remington 700 ADL a true tack driver.

I swapped the trigger on mine for a Timney and dropped it in a Manners stock and it is sub-MOA at 100 yards with supers and subs.

Timney trigger and a quality stock. Never have lapped the lugs on the one Rem 700 action I have, now Derrick is making me think I should. Cant hurt.

for 300 black out i would only do a trigger. I wouldn't spend a lot of money on a 200 yard gun

All I did to my 308 AAC was put a Timney trigger in. Busted two good deer with it this season.

Yep, factory triggers and stocks SUCK!

Timney are great for the money and easy as can be to install.

Bell and Carlson Medalist stocks are great and don't break the bank....have someone bed it!

Trigger #1. A gun smith should be able to clean up the factory trigger and make it decent. Aftermarket is always good if you want to spend the money. I'd clean up the factory one on this type of rifle, though. I added a simple bolt knob enlargement on the end of the bolt knob. It helps get a better grip on it and aid in cycling the bolt. DBM is up to you. Just make sure the barrel is free floated and you should be GTG.

I just got finished replacing the factory triggers on all four of my 700 rifles with Timney triggers. What stock do you recommend for a good hunting replacement? I have three stainless sps in .270, 300 winmag .30-06. I also have a VTR .308. Most of my shots range from 100-300 yards.

I put on a Bell and Carlson takeoff I had on my last build, and like it so far. I have used McMillan, AICS and HS P mostly, and all are pretty good. The only one I would not use again is MPI.
