This is my first year up that way and I saw several younger bucks hitting horns and a few chasing does. It don't seem like full on rut but I was curious what you guys that hunt out that way think on when it usually starts. I'm out near Paramore and niblo ranches. Thanks for any info.

Just got back. Deer still not to crazy for corn and buck sightings slow....did not see any rutting signs around Dumont but were chasing a little on the ranch in Gray County.

This is the deal. This year the rut seems to be a little late in parts of Texas. King county area usually has bucks chasing first week of gun season. Lots of food out there right now also. Y'all have had tremendous rains this year.

I didn't go up there this weekend. Thought I'd stay and hunt my closer lease for some meat. I plan on going next week tho.
