Walmart has their Remington 700 ADL Camo rifles right now for $297.99.
On Black Friday, all firearms are 20% off. The lady at the gun counter suggested that I put the gun on layaway, and then purchase it on Friday. So, I will get the gun for $238.39! Not bad for a Remington 700!
Thought I would pass along the info in case anybody else was in the market for a Remington 700.

Plus you get a $30 rebate from remington.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

The Remington 700 ADL I looked at tonite in Denison was marked $377, where the BF 20% discount would have come at in at around $301 + tax or $326 total ....and the 770's were marked big time lower than that where you'd get into the $238 range + tax. Sounds you got a deal in a mismarked gun.
FWIW the ADL's did not have any bottom metal or floor plate & magazine follower like a BDL....and netted out almost to the penny what the Ruger Americans were marked at....but felt waay more bettah than the RAR's to handle. Bolt was slick like a T/C Venture and painted with the same nitride looking stuff.
Both Sherman & Denison had a 700BDL each , that with the BF 20% off would have net'd about $480 + tax or about $520 out the door...not bad not bad. Fun to look, but I passed on'em. Ron

Wiley...The black 700 ADL's were $377. But the Camo 700 ADL's (w/ a cheap scope) were $297. There was a .270 and a 7mm. Both were $297. I got the .270.
They were definitely 700s, not the 770s. For some reason, the camo 700s were cheaper than the black ones (and came with a scope). I think that Walmart gets big runs on certain guns from manufacturers, and are able to drop the price a lot lower than similar guns.

if anyone happens to pick up an extra short action caliber and is interested in selling it then please send me a pm, would love to give me dad an action to build his 6.5 creedmoor on for christmas

I was there today. Saw them on in the case but didn't look at the price. Heck of a deal.

Both Sherman & Denison had some Mossberg "predator" styled camo wrapped guns & some Savage Axis guns & a single Ruger American in each store, but I ony found the single '06 700 ADL in Denison in stock, and 1 each 700BDL's, with a '06 in Denison & a 270 in Sherman.
I know Sherman is a higher volume ranked store than Denison, and both of them are smaller ranked volume stores than say the new Crossroads (Aubrey)store on Hwy 380 east of Denton near my son's recent new house.
Back in the 1980's, when I was selling Llama pistols to WalMart by the truckload , I'd ask my buyer why some stores got this or that and why the On Hand levels were so different ...and he'd give me a blank stare...point to the ceiling where the hidden microphone's were and keep his hand down where the hidden camera's couldn't see him....and shyly wink. IMO Some stores got more heavily stocked than others as a way to "jazz" their sales numbers or as a reward to the Store Manager....according to what the "skinny" was among the Reps.
Oh I just remembered...when we were doing our intial rollout of the final selection of 4 Llama pistols, I made sure I had been in every store in my 5 State Territory to make sure all 4 different look a like items were in the case. My Buyer told me local mgmt would over ride the PlanOGram and sub items he wanted to show. I had a large frame 45ACP & 9mm and a small frame but identical looking 380 & 22LR - but at a cheaper price - and 90% of the stores I was in over the next 90 days after the intial rollout had already ignored the PlanOGram that took almost a year to develop and priced all 3 items - the 22LR got dropped after the 1st 90 day Sales Review because most of them were never put on display - at the same price. Some stores only had 1 of the 3 guns in stock on display and called it good. A year latr we were down to just the 45ACP because of slow sales and the Sales Assc theft issues from back stock. Today the stores look tighter managed display wise but are still not good. Today they also are stocked daily from Regional Warehouses instead of the Central Warehouse in B'Ville, with no back stock for the most part in this category. Wimmens bra's one day, tropical fish the next is what the store clerks have to put up with for work assignments beyond a dept mgr level, so it is no wonder they usually can't give you a good answer to a question. Selling to WalMart is what it is...a love/hate relationship for the Vendor. BTDT Ron

So I went to the local Wally World Thanksgiving morning, probably the same one as the OP. Had to do a last minute food run and swung by the sporting goods to check on the rifle. No 700s on the shelf, none available in the back. He offered to order me one, but not at the Black Friday pricing because it would take 5 days to get in.

Heckuva deal. $520 drive out for a BDL is a heckuva deal too.

Picked up a BDL 30-06 today at WM. 517 out the door, nobody else could touch that. May leave it 06, tore up and built something else on the others. Wife even agreed with this one.

I grabbed an adl here in Abilene. 326 otd plus $35 mail in rebate brings total to $291. Revo, was that at the 351 location? Think I saw it earlier when I picked up mine.

Had to ask if they had one in the back but got it. Apparently they keep a bunch in the back.
