Literally. Took my 3 yr old with me for the first time ever this weekend. It was definitely unique...
Had my arm around my 3 year old son sitting next to me as we cruised to a feeder in my Arctic Cat trailing my dad in his Ranger. All of a sudden I hear a thump, feel my son's body immediately twist 90 degrees, and suddenly I have a feeling of fur in my hand. I immediately thought I must've run over a large log that shot up into the passenger seat and hit my son. I looked right and it was no log! I see this deer falling back outta the Cat and my son laying sideways with his head against me. Immediately I stopped and checked him out. Besides being in near shock from the deer hitting him he was fine.
I looked for the deer and was grateful the fawn was ok. Watched it run off with a slight limp but didn't see any broken legs. Also very grateful it as only a fawn and not a large doe or even a buck. The damage done would definitely have been much worse.
Heres my 3 yr old on top with me.
Both my boys sat with me that evening as I took a doe for some hands that wanted some meat.
