Just making sure I don't mess something up. I have some new .270 Brass (Winchester). If I want to neck it down to .25-06 can I just lube it and run it through a sizing die?

I have done this many times, just be sure and trim to the correct length. I also annealed the neck after sizing.

Yes, anneal it. If you don't know how, there is plenty of info on the web. Some of it is even correct.

If you don't anneal it, then it won't last through many loadings.

Anneal? Is that where you heat it then dip it in water? I'll look it up. I still have about 100 once fired brass so probably won't be doing it soon but just figured I'd ask while I was thinking about it.

That's all I use for brass seeing as 06 brass is hard to come by. Annealing isn't a must, but definitely helps.
