This was the best public hunt I've ever been on. The pintail curse continues. I am convinced that my browning maxus has a curse that will not allow me to shoot a pintail. I whiffed on a group right in my decoys.

Awesome strap! I have the pintail curse as well! Working to break that this season. Around 9 the guys I met up with and I were chatting and all of a sudden one says pintails. I grab my gun and there are 7-10, feet down, 5 foot off the water and we start shooting. They each got a drake (one really nice) and I got zip.

I whiffed on a group right in my decoys. How do you like your Maxus? Love the feel of that gun FYI I own a Maxus too... I love it. The smoothest and lightest handling semi-auto I've ever put in my hands. I got one the year they came out and have never had an issue with it at all. As for the Maxus curse... You're probably looking at "dead" ducks before they're dead. I have had so many issues staying in good shooting form because I have gotten excited and quit putting my head on the stock and keeping my eyes on the rock- or in my case, the duck. If you can get the ducks down to the water, you have plenty of time. Just take your time, put the bead on the beak and follow through like a pro golfer.
Wasn't born in Texas, but I got there as fast as I could.

Yeah I just get to excited when they come in and get in a rush. I do the same thing coyote hunting with a rifle and I miss. On the maxus, hands down the best semi auto for me. I shot a sbe and a few others but they didn't do it for me. I absolutely love it and will always have one.

BTW, I love woodies! They are beautiful birds. Yes they are but man I can't figure them out. They buzzed us all morning not looking at the spread. Then around 830 a hen and drake decide they'll plop down about 15 yards away in the decoys.
