We had a successful elk season! My son was able to get a bull and wife got a cow.....I didn't draw! It was a great hunt in a snow storm. He dropped the bull on a sandstone cliff, so the pics are a little different as the bull died against a large boulder and we couldn't spin him around. What you can't see is the 40' drop in the otherside of the bull!
He also dropped this buck in our pasture.

Seeing how the temps were in the single digits with blizzard conditions 16" of snow fell that day. We gutted the bull and decided to bring him off the mountain the following day. Here is a better pic of where he was.

We were hunting near Hayden, CO at Cross Mountain Ranch. It's part of the ranching for wildlife program here in Colorado. The state works with private ranches to open up to limited public hunting. We get to hunt ranches that we probably couldn't afford to hunt, for the price of the license. The ranch was great an looking forward to getting drawn for another hunt there.
