Went to the range, decided to "shoot and see", and the jury says?

rifle

I didn't have my good shooting bag(s) which get me even steadier than I was able to get today, so I really think I can close this up....but, although a quick glance say this is a three shot group, it is indeed a 5 shot group. I think I'm good!

a 308 in a 260 would be a testiment to the steel these days. 260 in a 308 is a testament to flamethrower designs! peep

I've had multiple customers shoot ammo in a rifle it wasn't meant for. All rifles came out ok. But, it is still very dangerous. During a competition a guy grabbed my magazine with 6.5x47 Lapua ammo and shot it in his 308 Win. It was still ok, other than me being pissed. Seen several fire 260 in a 308, 300WM in a 338 Lapua (I still have no idea how this one went off!), 26-06 in a 270 win.

I saw a rifle where a guy shot a 308 in a 25-06, did not go well. He still has two eyes, but only 9 fingers.

I once had a fellow bring in a 270 Weatherby Mk V that had the beautiful stock blown in two, the floor-plate ruined... He had bought "some 270 ammo" at a discount store and somehow got it to fire in the Weatherby.

I told him that I couldn't do anything for him, and advised him to send it to Weatherby for repair... I also explained about the difference between 270 Winchester and 270 Weatherby.

Not everybody is a gun nut, it seems like whoever sold him the Weatherby could have clued him in about the ammo situation. He was devastated about the rifle being blown up, scared him to death too.

No injury though, the Mark V action handled the situation about as well as can be expected.

The 300 whisper/blk in a 556 is the one that makes me cringe..

Will the bolt of a rifle in .223 close on a .300 BLK round? I've got drawings but I can't tell by looking at them...it seems to depend on the bullet profile. I'm with Misfire...that could be bery, bery bad juju.
