I've already decided this guy is getting a pass for this year at least. I watched him for about 30 minutes Friday morning, and he's the best buck I've seen so far this year. This is my first year on my new lease in Stephens County, and I'm curious how old you guys think this buck is. He's the deer with his head up in the second photo. Sorry for the tilted angle, the cows must of bumped the camera. Thanks y'all.

I would say there are 2 different bucks in these pics. Top one looks 3 and bottom buck is at least 4 if not 5 from those pics.

Thanks guys! I thought he was probably a 3 year old. I guess it could be two different bucks, the body of the buck in the second photo does look bigger and more muscular.

Ffread, I'm in the extreme SW corner of Stephens County, probably about 3 miles from both the Eastland and Shackleford county lines, north of Cisco and east of Moran, off of FM 1853. Its been pretty slow so far this season, but this weekend was better than the first two weekends. I missed the third weekend, but the other guys said it was better, too. One of our guys took a 9-pointer the wednesday after opening day but that's it.

I have a lease really close to you! Do you know where CR 190 is off of 1853?

Yeah, that's not far at all. How long have you been hunting there? I've been getting mixed messages from the other guys on the lease about what constitutes a good deer for the area, what's your opinion? I appreciate your insight, its my first year out there.

Let me see if I can find a few pics from our lease, we don't have a ton of deer but have decent bucks I guess!

I guide hunts on a place north of town and kind of get spoiled because we don't have near as big of deer on my lease as we do where we work. If I can find some pics from our lease I will pm them to you to give you an idea of what we have

Good deer throughout that area. Why do think there is a difference in that area vs. down south by you or up by me. I think it may be there are bigger tracts of land. Thoughts?

Sorry Rattler did not mean to hijack thread. I agree Ffread, the guy I know on Snake Den Rd has a 400 acre place surrounded by 4000 acre place. He had 2 TBGA bucks taken off his place last year.
