Is 2 lbs too light for a hunting rifle? I have a trigger on one rifle that's 2 1/2 lbs and I thought I might go to 2 lbs on my 257 WM. I have to replace the factory Remington trigger and was going to go with a Timney or a Jewell, both of which can be adjusted.

Thanks.

I like 3lbs for a hunting trigger, that way I can feel it with cold hands or gloves. A good crisp 3lb trigger can be shot accurate enough for any hunting I do.

I run a 2.5 two stage huber. The first stage is most of the weight with the second being very fine. Works really good for me.

I agree. The only time I would use a 2 to 2 1/2 lb trigger would be varmint hunting from a solid rest.

2-2.5 on personal rifles. Those don't get loaned out or borrowed. 3.5 on loaners. If by a fluke a buddy borrows one of my personal I turn it up to 3-3.5

Me too. My PD rifles are even lighter, as is my heavy .300WM. For a general hunting gun, I can live with 3.5 lbs, just so long as it breaks crisply.
