You running any heat to them?looks good as long as it's well protected from tipping hey kerosene lamp in there will really make a lot of heat and will produce carbon dioxide that the plants will thrive on. Got lazy and didn't decide to do a fall garden this year. Kinda wish I did fresh tomatoes sound good. Was still getting a lot of peppers and okra up until this last week though.

old style Christmas tree lights do a great job, its withstood 35mile gust's, 1/2 rebar driven into the ground, 10' 1/2 pvc bent over, is sturdy

That's exactly my set up, works really well! Good ideas on the Christmas lights and the kerosene lamp! Beets are probably one of my favorite things to grow. Greens are great in salads, and the beet itself is delicious. Also, one of the better "for you" things you can grow. Even higher vitamin/mineral content than kale! Not to mention, they'll grow year round most places in Texas!
