Set up my floating pond king blind yesterday for saterday. Decided what the hell- hunt solo this am- woke at 4:30. Decided to change it up a bit- hunted big private lake- used only dozen dekes- and the magical mallard machine. Ducks were dropping from heaven.

Didn't blow call one time. Heard only one shot all am. Passed on 3 groups of ringers. Darn gun broke 15 minutes after LST- but managed to scratch some pretty drakes- passed on ringers today. Saw under 100 birds all day- including horizon.

And- exercised my comerant permit today. Like shooting geese. Nice morning.

Tomorrow will be interesting without lever. Only regret was 30+ GWT raided my spred- missed on first shot, dang gun jammed.

Shot 5 of these suckers

Brushed her up a bit more after pic puppy killed it today. Great retrieve at first light

Appreciate it-.amazing what a little natural foliage will do. Ducks didn't hesitate a bit. Moved it 100 yards today for tomorrow.

Tried another new tactic today because of lack of wind. Put Robo dove about 75 yards away from spred on bank to draw attention. Didn't flair them a bit. Give it a shot during dead wind days.

I'll try the mojo dove trick. I'm new to duck hunting and other than still dekes I don't have anything else yet. Thanks for the advice.

Robo is visual- sometimes they need something they can see from long way off. Sometimes I have it in the dekes, 50-100 yards away For flash, or completely pull it if birds not finishing.

You need motion in decoys when no wind- bubblers, mojo mallard machine- even jerk rig- gotta have it or they will not finish
