Hogs will move in the rain. Things might slow down if it storms really bad, but if it's just off an on rain you'll be fine.. Might even help a little. Good luck
Fast paced gregarious society forgets the healing power of solitude. It's worked thousands of years. Casting a line/gazing into a campfire/sitting in a blind after a long week is medicine for the soul. The serenity and peacefulness of it all is majestic.

During any 24 hour period, hogs are going to move. I have shot some very nice hogs between bands of heavy rain or after a night of heavy rain.
Rain does not stop hogs. It may slow some of the activity, but nothing will stop them from eating. The only question is whether there is something they want where you are.

Sometimes the softening of the ground caused by rain makes it easier for the hogs to root. My perception is that the soft ground makes the hogs more active, but ymmv.

Unless it is a heavy downpour I have not noticed any difference in hog activity when its raining.

Ill post my kills in another post...go kill some bacon and good luck!
There's nothing better than killin it and grillin it!

In addition to the ground being softer, the rain will also bring up grubs and may also bring scent from other things that are below the surface. Edges of waterways that tend to spill out and accumulate debris in pools or eddies and also where water is left standing after the receding water, these will tend to have active rooting.

Here is a picture I took today. To my left is a flowing creek. In front and to the right are houses built out of the floodplain. The oak trees on the right and those directly ahead had a bumper crop of acorns in 2012. Circled are 2 of the three areas that have been rooted since Thursday. Also note that there is a distinct line running from left to right on the far area. This is a property line. The lot with the rooting on it and the one I was standing in were mowed on Wednesday just prior to the rains. I dealt with this subdivision in 2013. Hogs would NOT TOUCH CORN, no matter how you served it. Plain, sour, with kool aid, jello or diesel.... it didnt matter. I even told one lady to let me borrow a silver platter and she laughed. We ended up hunting the rain, moon, and the mowing schedule and killed over 25 animals out of this and the adjoining estate on the other side of the creek. So sometimes you gotta think outside the box and see what is making them tick. I honestly thing mowing, shreading, or fresh cut grass is a big player in it.

Hogs. an their were a lot of acorns their too. learned something new. first time heard of that. maybe them hogs put corn with hunters. cool post.
