Jack those are some very good stags! I actually like them better than a lot of New Zealand stags I've seen. Kind of like a woman with a very nice natural C versus an obviously silicone aided D.

Thanks Nsmike, I prefer Australian reds over NZ ones. In Australia we go for aesthetics and symmetry as opposed to punching out as much mass and number of crazy tines as possible. Our's are a more realistic example of true red deer I think.

But you can't get much more truer than Scotland like Ram Outdoors, just had a good friend do a stag hunt while over in Scotland visiting friends, shot a 7 and 8 point stag. Really enjoyed the experience.

I think that with Scotland it isn't so much the trophy per say but the whole experience. I've hunted in Germany which is also an unique experience.

The experience of any hunt is why most of us commit ourselves to this hobby, while I haven't gotten to NZ or Aus, Scotland is simply an outstanding trip. my 11 from last year was just awesome to see him in full rut, roaring his head off and then managing to get close enough for a shot just makes the whole trip. This year we took a few off the mountain as well and as luck always has it, saw the "BIG" boy after season still trotting across the meadow!!

I have one more hunt left for a 370-390" I'm estimating that looks very similar to the 1st 2 pics that JPHunting posted. PM me for more details if interested. Very wide and large framed.

Thanks for the endorsement TGT.

We have red two herds - one is NZ and the other is of more euro/mix genetics. Both large self sustaining and with some outstanding mature trophies. We took this one below week before last - it was a great hunt, spot and stalk and finally managed to pick him off by coming around and approaching through a creek which is in the foreground as the herd went into the pasture. It is a perfect time for stalking up on these guys as they are so busy chasing off the younger males, parading around the ladies - fun to watch!
