I was planning on heading to my lease in Coleman County on Friday but now see that it is supposed to rain all night and all day Saturday. I have never had much luck hunting in the rain. What do you think? who out there has luck hunting in the rain. would you go or would you hold of another week.

If I have planned to go and it starts to rain, I stick to my plans. Of course, there is a difference between a sprinkle and a deluge

Yes. A light rain won't bother them at all.
If it's a heavy rain, I still go and try to be hunting when the rain stops. That is a key time.

Especially this time of year as the bucks are up as much as possible anyway.

A light, cold rain gets makes them hungry and gets them to moving, especially will it breaks for brief periods during the day.

Short of a turd floater hunting the rainy days can be great. Two of my personal best came on rainy days. One was on a cold drizzly morning and the other was a warm steady morning rain. If you get lucky and it rains all night and most of the next day be in the stand when it stops. GO TIME!

All three of my "trophy" WT bucks have been shot in a drizzle/light rain. So, you can bet I'm out in it! Don some rain gear and get out there.

If it is hunting season and I can hunt, I don't care what the weather is doing. I am there.

Yeah I am watching the weather. It calls for 100% chance starting 9 or 10 friday night and not stopping until 7 or 8 on saturday. Then the wind picks up sunday early with strong gusts.

If its a turd floater with lightning I will stay in camp, but when it starts slacking off its to the stand I go. I will be at lease wether I get to hunt or not. Away from the hustle and bustle of work and honeydo's

Every deer is different in how they react to rain from what I have seen. I prefer a light drizzle on a low 40's temp day during the rut. My cousin killed a really nice 8 point this past Saturday morning in those conditions. A rain early in bow season to cool things off seems to be good for me. Also something about a rain in South Texas that just gets deer moving around much more than they normally would. I watched a mature really big buck and another good buck feed on corn along a road for almost 1 1/2 hours in a hard rain one afternoon in early season. It was not raining when he came out but he did not leave when it started. It rained about 2.5" inches in 4 hours that afternoon.

I will be wearing my rain gear. I love it when it comes a gully-washer over night. It does make it hard to get out of bed when it still coming down, but you want to be in place when it stops.

I love the rain. Not so much thunder storms, especially toting around a lightening rod (rifle). I will be out there this weekend, hoping the TS aren't too bad and end early enough to hunt. TS supposed to start on Friday and end Sat evening in my area.

Get out there! Sometimes even a 10-15 minute break in the rain gets 'em moving.
