but coyotes, hogs, and road hunting keeps them pretty well nocturnal. Ain't that the truth, grew up close to the area and not alot of deer, plenty of hogs and coyotes though. From what I am hearing and seeing the antler restrictions are helping the deer population. The dawson area has always been notorious for road hunters.

I am new on this forum and really enjoy all the topics. I have spent hours every night reading thru the various discussions. Keep posting all the good stuff! My question is: Is anyone hunting Navarro County, especially south of Corsicana? I hunt several spots in Navarro SW of Corsicana off of Hwy 31. I'm seeing deer in the same numbers as past years but few large bucks. Last year there was a 14p taken in the Richland Creek bottoms below Navarro Mills Lake. I've hunted that area for 40+ years and can count on one hand the number of monster bucks that have been harvested. Speaking of Dawson, we've caught poachers on my folks land quite a few times. It runs rampant in that area.

so youre hunting near Streetman? This deer came from near Navarro Mills Lake... nice buck!  Thanks...wish it was me who took him but its about a mile from my ranch... Was that buck taken on the Kyle Ranch?
