I didn't actually think it would happen but I bought a hog grunt call and actually called in a big boar. We didn't get a shot on it cause it was dark but it was quite the adrenalin rush hearing a boar coming through the brush and running out 15 yards away from us. All I could hear was a big pig getting closer and closer and then there he was. He was not happy that there was another pig on his turf. We were near food and water but it was very clear he had no intention of getting food or water. Anyone ever try calling in hogs before?

You realize you can hunt hogs around the clock? I assume you mean you didn't want to deal with it because it was dark.

the spot we hunted had fresh rooting that day so we went out that evening about an hour before dark. Right when it started to get dark we could hear the hogs moving in the brush. Then after the boar came in we had what I thought was a small black pig walk in front of us but it turned out to be a skunk so we got out of there. I don't want a pig that bad.

and we didn't have enough time to get a shot on the hog before it went back into the brush. it lasted maybe 10 seconds before it went back into the brush. Don't know if it saw us or heard us. Definitely didn't smell us though.

I've called in several. Foxpro has several sounds that work well. I've had the best luck with Boar Sparring.

hog calls are like deer calls & rattling. 1) ya got ta have hogs around. 2) hogs eat &multiply more than deer, so hogs going inta eat or love sick sow, i use in my decorative voice suuuue, suuuuuue it been tested ta bring the hogs a runnen. 3) preasure. what works best is get one or two of them 3-D hog targets. get some of that hog scent atractant dump on 3-D grab your favoret feeding frenzy call. i have cheap posts. have used old deer grunt tub, moved reed were it sounded like hog, no luck. Guess got some cool videos flag

Glenn Guess from "hog zombies" has some good videos callin in hogs. I believe he worked with/was sponsored by fox pro or another company to create a hog call. How do u know that he didn't smell u

Fast paced gregarious society forgets the healing power of solitude. It's worked thousands of years. Casting a line/gazing into a campfire/sitting in a blind after a long week is medicine for the soul. The serenity and peacefulness of it all is majestic.
