Awesome. I cant wait for my son to be able to squeeze one off on a deer. I honestly got more excitement out of my wife shooting her first deer opening weekend, than I have killing a deer in many years. My sister didn't start hunting until about 4 years ago. I got the pleasure of being with her on her first deer. It was simply outstanding. I was also with her when she missed her first buck at 60 yards...three times The tactical breathing training went out the window when she saw him My 6 year old is all fired up now that her cousin got a couple of deer. Told her she still had a few years left to learn, but she could start practicing. Can't wait for her...little man still has alot of years left. That's what it is all about. I never get to take my nephews hunting. There dad has the oldest one scared of his own shadow and he is a real introvert. I would love to take him and his little brother hunting but I don't think it will ever happen. But my son will be there in about 4 or 5 years. And I will use your technique of keeping it fun.

Great read, and great buck, she is cute as an angel too. Great job being an uncle as well, good to keep it about her.

Great story and congrats to all
If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

Great story and congrats on being the man..... not that it sounds like her dad is. She may remember her dad being with her when she shot her first deer, but someday, someone will ask "Who taught you how to shoot like that?" She'll say "my Uncle T Rex" Great job!
I'd ask him if he's pregnant. He missed a s__tload of periods. I'll take "things that look like a uterus" for $200 Alex.

Good for her. She'll have some great memories of her first buck. And don't think that she doesn't know and appreciate who taught her to shoot. The fact that she was trying to contact y'all says an awful lot.
Now Uncle T-Rex can teach her Combat Breathing to calm her nerves when the next buck walks out. the only meeting with my dad was before I can remember and I have a highly photographic memory so very sad. Was raised by a single mom till I was twelve and my grandpa was you to her. Her trying to contact is absolutely wishing you were there and Exitment that had her calling you was forgetting it was him that she was with on the experience you lead her to congratulations to you both a million. And later stated she will learn along the way she already knew as I am sure the first thing after she calmed down was get ahold of you an mom now!!!!!:) if every one is lucky now maby he will see this and be a little more devoted and be around for the long haul but you just wait till she gets one with you! Sometimes the supporting cast are the main characters. If dad stays around great and you keep doing what your doing if he is gone or lacks interest do the same thing you are in a win win.
