Been hunting in Arkansas this year with family and have let some bucks walk were I couldn't verify three points on one side at one hundred yards seems impossible. And by the way I'm hunting a knockdown area that's why I have distant shots. Looking for meat for freezer not horn size.

Then I would suggest a pair of quality binoculars. I can easily discern points at 100 yards with a pair 10x42 Steiner binocs. A less expensive pair of Nikons will provide equally good results.

If three points are not visible at 100 yards, sounds like the rule did a good job of protecting a young deer.

How do you keep the back lenses from fogging up? Mine always do in just a few seconds.

Besides a coating, I let my binos and rifle/scope get to outside temps if I can. Never had the problem with a scope though.

Sometimes I tuck my binocs into my jacket to keep them warm. When it's cold the eyepieces will sometimes fog from your body heat and moisture from your eyes.
