Without an actual trigger scale, is their a homemade way to do it? Inverted kitchen scale and a loop?

Yes, but you do it with weights, then measure weight required to pull trigger. check it three to four times and you should be with 1-2 ounces. If this doesn't make sense, PM number and I will explain over phone.

Or just pay $15 and have one that's right every time.

You made me remember that I had cut out a piece of 3/8" plate steel to weigh 2 pounds. I drilled a hole in it and tied monofilament to it with a loop on the end. Rifle butt down on the table, muzzle toward the sky, loop around the trigger I raised the rifle until the weight made the trigger fire. Clear action of course.

I had forgotten that I had that piece of plate cut just so-so. I remember using my paint pen and labeling it "2 pounds". I think I know where it is, I'll look tomorrow.

If you're interested in a certain weight, and have some plate steel, I can tell you how thick each thickness of steel should weigh per square foot, then we'll have to convert that to square inches to get "the" right size.

I've got one of those. Might have to try that. Good idea.

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

Found it!

1/2" plate weighs 20 pounds per square foot. Divide by 144 = .138 pounds per square inch.

I cut a piece 3" x 6" to get 2.5 pounds.
