Is there a powder that does well with both rounds and meters well from a RCBS Uniflow?

Any ball, spherical, flake or small extruded powder will work well. There's about 100 of them in the burn rate you need. Look at a reloading manual to see what powders will work for you with the bullet you are shooting, then go to the mfg website to see what kind of powder it is.

Was gonna say Varget till you said you wanted it to meter well...

The powder performs super consistently, though.

H335 will excel in both rounds and meters beautifully.

Varget. Through mine it will throw +/- two 10th's typically. I set it a little low and trickle up to desired load, but I'm never in a hurry and don't mind the time taken for this.

What others have said. Varget or H335. H335 meters better. Other options are out there, of course.

This is pretty much on target.

CFE223 meters well and can be used for both. The powders you use for 223 work for the lighter (150gr and down) 308 bullets as well. For heavy 308 IMR4064 works well but does not meter well.

Benchmark meters well but I haven't loaded .308 so I can't attest to its performance in that cartridge.

CFE 223 is my favorite powder for .224 caliber.

4064 works for both, but like he said, it meters very bad. You can also use 4198 for both although you'll run into the same problem as the 4064. I find it to be very pleasant to shoot out of an AR. Soft recoil.

Look in your load manual or the hodgdon website.

In my experience, H335 does great in 223 up to about 60 grain bullets. Heavier than that and accuracy goes to pot. It does meter like water, though...

Surprised no one mentioned Winchester 748. Probably the best metering powder I've ever used along with CFE 223.

In my experience 8208XBR meters extremely good. I am using it for my 77gr SMK 223 load and my 175gr Berger LRX loads.

175gr with relatively little baring surface is about the upper limit for 308 win loads.

23.3 grns for my 223 load good for an average velocity of 2750 fps at 600 feet elevation and 85 degrees temp in a 1:7" twist 16" chrome lined barrel.

42.5 grns for the 308WIN load

As always start light and work up.
