I'm in the eastern area of San Saba County, just south of US 190, and opening weekend we saw a lot of deer, including some really nice bucks. Harvested a doe and cull buck Saturday morning, then took several hogs that same evening. Sunday hunts were just as good but nothing was harvested. Deer look very healthy, but would expect that since I feed year-round. Bucks were just beginning to chase the does.

We are in northern san saba county. We are seeing deer but they are not hitting the feeders hard yet. Been pretty slow. Tons of acorns. The deer are very healthy, but most of them are just passing through. I'm heading there tonight so I'll update you next week.

I believe December will be better than now because they should be hitting feeders harder.

I agree with Txhuntr2 and I am in NW San saba county. Slow movement right now but improving. I live here and drive 30 miles north at 5:30am and am seeing very few deer on my drive. Did see a buck near the river this morning that looked like he was on the prowl! Good luck

I hear Mills is chasing hard right now, right on schedule for the typical peak of the ~17th.

Glad to hear the deer are looking good this year! landowner said there were TONS of acorns this year as yall are confirming! Matter a fact they turned off all feeders for now due to the corn piling up under the feeders and one property were gonna be hunting is on the river so they dont want the hogs staying. All the rain recieved around the first really got hogs in high gear. Totally look forward to some much needed R&R.

Has anyone of you hunted Colorado Bend State Park? My wife drew a tag out there in December too. We have never been so shes going in blind.

On stand now. A little windy but hopefully it will calm around dusk. The deer came to my feeder well this morning. Had a decent crab claw 9 chasing a little but mostly eating. I see far fewer acorns on trees at our place. THE rain really brought the hogs in here too. We are not on the colorado but a mile or so from it. This is the most hogs I've seen in San saba since getting on this lease in 2004.

I'm in southwest San Saba cty. between Pontotoc and Fredonia and we are seeing deer movement but not at the feeders as of last weekend. Acorns everywhere and I also believe December will be better when its colder and the deer start hitting the feeders.
