1)Have heard that there are axis and other exotics running around west of Wimberly/east of Blanco area. Does anyone have any experience seeing exotics while whitetail hunting in the central texas hill country around this area?

2) Just put up a feeder on my friend's land which is half a section and not much hunting pressure. How long have you seen it take to the deer to find it in your experience? It's on the edge of the woods in an open field and I did put a 100 yards of corn either direction to the feeder but there are no distinct trails.

Thanks, friends.

There are some free ranging exotics in and around the area, so there's always a chance. With that said, it's probably not something that I'd count on.

Exotics are far more common west of 281

You may see a few but that's not really axis country

That said, I did see an axis for dead on Monday on 35 between Von Ormy and Lytle, which is extremely odd

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.
