Been putting alot of hours iinsince opening weekend of rifle and only seen 5 deer but a crap load of tracks. Only seen 1 doe and a really nice buck that would not come out of the beush one morning and 2 other young bucks by themselves in the evenings. Have a tc setup at the feeder and have only 2 night feeding of 2 doe and alot of 2 young bucks feeding at night. Tracks EVERYWHERE just nothing coming in to the feeder it seems during morning and evening hunts, I am hunting burnet county just wondering if anyone is having same issues.

I think the moon has a lot of animals moving at night. Hopefully it starts getting better.

I'm not anywhere near your location, but its been similar at our place. Lots of deer sign, but it seems to be almost exclusively at night. On my best sit this year, I watched 6 deer and none of them went to the feeder. I'm hoping this cold weather will get things to pick up.

I have seen the deer early on the acorns and new plant growth, but with this extended cold snap, I'd bet feeders see more clients. Deer are also finally spending more time in my food plots with the last rain we had, so if you have a FP, may get busy with grocery shoppers. BTW, Opening weekend, I had more TC photos of (younger bucks) from 9:45-11:30am and out as early as 3:45pm

We have started corning roads/clearings and have had a ton of success. Deer will walk through and eat on the road and not pay any attention to the feeder that is 30 yards away.

my feeders have been hit sproadically lately, and I don't have any TC on my food plots but I did watch three doe in the food plot the last evening hunt we did (opening saturday). I think there have been a lot of natural groceries for them to eat and I am really hoping the extended freezes in my area will bring them to the feeders more often. Time will tell. Moon phases and timings haven't been as good for hunting either with full moons all night long. As natural forbs die off from frost and moon phase comes into alignment with hunting, I expect to see some good action this weekend. I just hope my expectations are correct confused2

The other thing is the rut happening right now, which may have all the deer tied up in their homeland and not travelling to my lease, or maybe just keeping them out of the feed pens and away from the TC. Add to that the winds and cold front moving in and it is the perfect recipe for me not to be hunting right now and waiting for the weekend...

Maybe quit hunting the feeder and start hunting where the tracks are?

After last weekend's poor showing I was honestly considering not hunting this week...

BUT, the change in the weather has given me enough motivation to be in the stand come Saturday.

Same for us....between the acorns and full moon feeder traffic has been lite but I expect that to change this weekend.
