For next week. If price is right I would consider an axis buck as well but really want the axis meat. I will be hunting in Brownwood early in the week and then on to Trent but willing to travel. Let me know.

Sorry to derail your thread, but if you're not going to keep your Axis hides, please let me know. The Taxidermist 'lost' two Axis hides from my daughter's first hunt, and I had promised that I'd make them in to pillows for her.

The one thing is that if you want to spot and stalk you might see if another guide other than Ricky i available. I was was coming of knee surgery, so I didn't push the issue, but Ricky didn't sound very enthused when I mentioned spot and stalk.
for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype

You guys can disagree all you want, this is a public forum after all. I personally had a horrible experience with ricky and walter. I work very hard for my money and if the way this ranch is ran is the same way all other trophy hunting places are ran then I want none of it, ill just keep hunting my lease in hopes of a real trophy

if youre paying several thousand dollars for a spot and stalk hunt you should get a spot and stalk hunt not a slapstick guide who shows up late, lazy, and drives up on a "trophy" in the corner of a high fence which sits there waiting to be shot. Internet sales man for wrs can pm me his box is full anyone else interested pm as well

Granted, I've not hunted directly with the WRS guides, I still love going there and hunting. animals may not be the best, but they do offer a good hunt(axis, fallow, aoudad, red deer, WT)

Have hunted the WRS Ranch many times. Ricky is a great guide and works hard to put his hunters on game. My son and his buddy are going hunting on the WRS soon to try and get a WT Buck to hang on the wall. I have always felt like I got a good deal hunting there.
