Ive been checking out different Thermal scopes and came across this optic: Night Optics PTS-33650 Panther for $6499.00

Has anyone ever had experience with one? I've searched on youtube for videos and got nothing.

I know this might sound biased due to my background but there are so many other scopes in the market that offer a lot more features for less money. Almost anywhere from a $1000 to $1500 less. Being an industry insider, I have not seen anyone with this scope yet.

When considering buying any thermal it is more than just price and similar specs. Because on paper two germanium lens would be the same but you have no clue on what type of germanium lens they are using; commercial grade or milspec. Commercial grade can easily filter out anywhere from 15% to 30% of the heat radiation. They are also not perfectly symmetrical, hence most of them have fixed focus. Milspec on the other hand cannot filter out more than 5% of the radiation and are perfectly symmetrical and in most cases manual.

Second, would be the sensor. You have so many companies now in the thermal market making sensors that just measuring pixels is not good enough.

lastly I personally think the display is also very crucial. LCD vs amoled, 640x 480 vs 800x600. There are companies now producing 720p displays.

Lastly the battery. Is it internal or external? Field changeable or not.
